Happy New Year, and happy new look! I seem to crave pink every January, and this year is no different! The only difference is, I’ve decided to use a very pale pink. (Last year it was a fuchsia). Anyway, whenever I am planning a new seasonal look in the house, I usually set out looking for a few new pieces I know will make an impact. I removed all the navy in the room ( the area rug, curtains, wall art and accessories). I moved those to the basement, which I’ll be sharing a little later. I replaced the blue rug with one I already had (in the bedroom). Then, I headed out to HomeGoods with pale pink in my eye and a few pieces in mind: art, accessories (maybe a vase), and maybe a new pillow or two.
Once I’m in the store, my eyes are in search of my new color! Right away I spotted something that I didn’t have in mind…..two extremely gorgeous, pale pink lamps!!! I texted a picture of them to my Mom right away, and she loved them too. Then, I posted a picture of the lamps on my Instagram page to take a quick poll: Yay or Nay?? The response was immediate and overwhelmingly YAY!! I had to do it! The lamps came home with me. (Ironically, I was looking at my existing lamps earlier in the day sorta thinking that I could stand to change them up!) I’ve the old lamps for about 8 years, that’s pretty good, right? I’ll reuse the old ones in another location.
Ta…da…how pretty are these babies?? I placed them atop my bookcase from Ikea. I also found the perfect blush pink faux roses and a mercury glass vase at HomeGoods. It’s so fun searching for a target color! It’s like a little hunt within the store! I placed the flowers on a small cake stand to add a little variation in height to the bookcase. The mirror on the wall is from Ikea, and you can see how I transformed it here.
The candle is from my friend Rachel’s Etsy shop, Burlap Bow Decor. She makes the most wonderful, hand poured Soy wax candles.
Love pillow, baskets and candle wall sconce from HomeGoods.
Pillows and throws also from HomeGoods. Stay tuned, as I’ll be sharing more changes I’ve made to this room soon! Thanks for reading!
