How about some New Year Inspiration? Well, today 6 of my friends and I are bringing you: Restyle and Refresh for 2017:7 Great Living Room Design Ideas. If you’re coming from my friend Amie’s Restyled Living Room at Meme Hill, I know you have a big smile on your face! Her living room looks so clean and fresh, and I’m loving her new white rug!
My Living Room
So, Christmas is long gone around here. I had a lot of decor (and Christmas trees) to put away, but I tackled it all in one day! I was proud of myself for getting things all put away, neatly and organized. I cleaned up all the glittery remains, and got ready for a new look by taking almost everything out of my living room. If you recall, I had a navy blue look going on in here. I rolled up the blue rug, took down the blue curtains, art work and accessories. (Now, the basement is decorated in blue). So, let’s take a look!
Pink, Pink and More Pink
It all began with these gorgeous pink lamps that I just happened to stumble across at HomeGoods. They had to come home with me!! They also set the tone for my new theme in the house: Pink! I tend to always use pink in my house at different points in the year, so I went on a hunt within my own home and found everything pink. I also did a little more shopping for a few new pieces.
I brought this white rug out of my bedroom for now, to lighten things up. It’s so cozy under your bare feet! The kids just love it! In fact, they actually like to move the coffee table out of the way so they can lay down on it! Can’t say I blame them!!
I’ve had this blush throw from HomeGoods for a while, and I also had one blush pillow! I always have white pillows on the couch, and then I add in a few colored or patterned ones for an easy update! I love mixing in a couple colors, sizes and shapes. Oh, and I almost always use a metallic pillow or two!
We also always have several blankets on, or near the sofa! We like to be cozy and snuggle up together!!
Here’s my coffee table! I generally always have a basket or tray on top, with a few favorites: candles, candy, flowers and something personal. (I LOVE that photo of me and my husband). There’s one of the amazing hand poured candles from my friend Rachel’s Agape Candle collection at Burlap Bow Decor.
We have this amazing photographer and friend that some of you may already know, Laura at Destro Photography. Our last photo session was at the beach, and she captured so many beautiful photos! So, you’ll see lots of those throughout our home. She created that gorgeous canvas for us, with one of our favorite family portraits. It gets moved around the house, but currently the colors in it are perfect for the living room (and it makes me smile every time I look at it).
I get lots of questions about our sofa sectional. We bought it so many years ago, at a local furniture store. I’ve found one that is very similar at Macy’s.
I’ve added new white curtain panels, and a lovely piece of art, both from HomeGoods.
This piece was exactly what I had in mind when I went shopping. I was pleasantly surprised to find it on my first trip to HomeGoods!
I’ve added pinks, creams, metallics, organics and textures to the fireplace. I’d like to add some fresh blossoms to the vases soon! (Just didn’t get to it before I photographed..)
I’m kinda in love with velvet ribbon lately, so I added a pretty little bow to my vase to soften it a bit. Doesn’t it look cute!
So, all in all, I decided on my color scheme (which is usually my M.O.) added a few new pink pieces, and shopped my own collection to complete my restyle and refresh. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my restyled space, and thank you for taking the time to visit! Now, I hope you’ll go see what my darling friend Janine is doing in her home at Happy Happy Nester. By the way, Janine is the wonderful organizer behind this Refresh and Restyle Tour. She does an amazing job, and I’m so happy we have become such good friends.
Don’t forget to take the rest of the tour now too!
