The summer has officially begun around here, with the kids out of school, and me off work for the summer. We’ve already been getting some pretty hot temps in Northern California, and the kids have been in the pool every afternoon and evening! I added a few summery pieces to the living room a few weeks ago to prep for summer weather. I added this Chunky Woven Jute Rug from World Market. I love jute in the summer months, because it just feels so beachy to me. I re-used some old (favorite) pillows from HomeGoods, and I added two new lumbar pillows here that are actually from the outdoor collection at World Market. I loved the vibrant colors, and I also love how easy they are to wipe off in case one of my kiddos spills on them. They’re also surprisingly soft!
The sofa is from a local furniture store that has since closed, but here is a very similar sofa at Macy’s. The coffee table is from Safavieh. The console table and accessories atop that and the coffee table are from HomeGoods.
The lamps of the table behind the sofa are from HomeGoods. The mirror is Ikea, painted in a faux finish, you can read the tutorial here. The wall color is Gardenia by Benjamin Moore.
